Electrical Infrastructure
Location: St. Kilda, VIC
Scope: Underground electrical installation for new lighting infrastructure
Method: Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)
Status: Completed
Peninsula Directional Drilling was engaged to complete underground electrical installations as part of a recent upgrade at Luna Park. The works supported improvements to the site’s electrical infrastructure, helping to modernise services across one of Melbourne’s most iconic and heavily visited destinations.
Using directional drilling, our team installed electrical conduits beneath existing pathways and surrounding areas to connect the upgraded systems. This trenchless approach allowed the works to be completed without major surface disruption — an essential consideration on a site where preserving the historic grounds and maintaining day-to-day operations were both critical.
The project required precise planning and coordination to maintain existing infrastructure and achieve accurate alignment for the electrical cabling routes — an essential consideration on a heritage site where the historic grounds had to be preserved throughout.
Completed efficiently and on schedule, the works have expanded electrical capacity and supported improved lighting at Luna Park — demonstrating Peninsula Directional Drilling’s expertise in underground electrical solutions on complex, high-profile sites.
